WHAT IS THE LAW THAT LIMITS THE OCCURRENCE OF
1,4-DIOXANE IN END FORMULATIONS?
On 9th December 2019 the Governor of New York, signed into law Senate Bill S4389B. The Act bans household cleansing products, cosmetic products and personal care products containing 1,4-Dioxane at concentration levels greater than trace amounts. The act will be in full effect starting 1st January 2022.

The act further states that, "No later than 1st May,2025, and every two years thereafter, the department, in consultation with the department of health, shall review such trace concentration thresholds and determine whether such concentrations shall be lowered to better protect human health and the environment".
