“Dhristi” Eye care project

Problem Statement: Due to lack of medical facilities in Palghar, villagers often suffer from poor vision as they avoid taking treatment because of low income. Cataract is a common eye issue and without treatment can cause complete vision loss. Treatment cost ranges from Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per eye and is expensive for village families.

Solution proposed: Galaxy in collaboration with Sri Chaitanya Healthcare initiated a project “Dhristi” to identify and treat people requiring immediate treatment.

Intervention: 4 Eye checkup camps were conducted during the financial year 2024-25, during the camp 364 people were screened. 75 people emerged who required Cataract surgeries to avoid losing of the vision. 

Cataract surgeries were successfully completed for these 75 people, restoring their normal vision

Success story of Madhu Prasad

Madhu Prasad, a 47-year-old from Pali, Boisar, struggled with deteriorating vision affecting daily life and work. Sri Nityam initiated Galaxy Surfactants Ltd. enabled her cataract surgery at Bhaktiwedanta Hospital, restoring her sight. This intervention renewed her hope and independence, highlighting the impact of accessible healthcare and corporate support.
